All About My Mama

Mother's Day, 2013.  A little book by Maggie....

What is a mother?
A mother is a careing, sweet, pretty, loving, snuggleing personThat's what a mother is!

My favorite time with my mother is...
Going to get our nails done.  I loved it and you must loved it too!

[Editor's note--we did this last Wednesday after Field Day and I took the day off work.  Haven't done it for at least a year or more before that.]

My mother looks the prettiest when...
She goes to the millitery ball and when you went to heros for children meetings.  That when you look pretty.

The funniest thing that ever happened to my mother is...
When you got stuck on top of a fence.  That was funny.

[Editor's note number 2--I was either 11 or 12 and I got scared on top of a fence that friends and I were climbing over.  All my friends scaled it with no problem.  I have a fear of falling.  Got to the top and cried immobilized with fear.  Girls love to beg "tell us a story when you were a kid."  This is a favorite, along with the Christmas tree my mother planted in our front yard when I was in the third grade.]

The most important thing in my mother's life is...
me, Allie and Katie.  Espeashily Allie.

My favorite dish that my mother makes is choklet chip pancakes.  She makes it like this...
First, she mixes the batter up.  Then, she puts the batter on the pan.  Third, she puts cholcet chips on it.  Last she put it on our plates and we get to eat it! From:Maggie

All of the above came with a handmade card with her handprint coming out of a vase with flowers on the fingers.  It says
Love my mom because...
She always lends a helping hand.  I love her!  It is so good to be her daughter!
Love, Maggie 2013

Tell you what, it is SO GOOD to be her mom!

I just re-read my comment for our last post and feel horrible like I left your absolutely gorgeous Maggie out. I didn't mean to. In fact, I couldn't post all of my first comment because it was too long. I think about Maggie all the time because my grandson was born 10/18/2005 and I would stalk you online to see how you were doing, coping, etc. I know he's my grandson, but I have custody of him and his 5 year old sister. He's lived with me his entire life. Maggie reminds me of my 5 year old granddaughter Kaylei. I know Kaylei wasn't born yet, but as Kaylei would do things, I'd think, I remember reading when Jenny posted that about Maggie! One of my favorites was her putting on her dress up shoes after lights out for you to be surprised when you got up to see what she was wearing. I have 5 daughters and NONE of them did that, so it's even funnier to me that both of the girls did. She's a fashion DIVA! They're both sweet as can be. I read about Maggie, and seeing that your older posts pop into my head when I see Kaylei do something, now I read it almost as a "what's going to happen." It's fun to compare and see just how sweet these girls are. Her Mother's Day gift to you was SO PRECIOUS! You're such a great mom or she wouldn't have listed the things she did. Thank you for sharing I with us also!

My fist line in the comment above was supposed to say that I re-read my comment for YOUR last post! I would never presume any claim on your wonderful blog...lol! Thank goodness I'm not paid to be a proof reader!

OH, and I almost cried when she said that she and her sisters were the most important thing in your life. So many kids know they're loved, but a lot put actual things in answer to that question. My heart swells with joy for you that your gorgeous baby knows that your babies are the most important things in your life. SO precious!

That is precious! :) Your old stories remind me of my kids wanting to hear about all my crazy phobias - holes in the wall (yes...I would SCREAM if we had to walk by a building that had a hole in the wall - my mom would be dragging me) and spiderman...Electric Company had a spiderman part, and everytime it would come on I would hide in the laundry room. Imagine my displeasure when we went to the local dept. store and found you know who handing out comic books! My dad said I literally climbed him! :) LOL...those old stories...the kids love em! ;)
