Dr. Dennis to the rescue!

First the Scotts, then the Reiningers, and now my mom--we've all switched our doctors to Dr. Dennis Eisenberg! Almost two years ago, Dennis (with my sweet friend Dana directly behind him about to push him aside at any minute and deliver the baby herself) delivered beautiful Margaret Elizabeth. Several months from now, he will gently deliver two Reininger twins, and yesterday, he did surgery on my mom. Hysterectomy, which she has been dreading due to the time and recovery usually involved. But, because Dennis is just as awesome as he is, he suggested a new and up and coming way to have a hysterectomy involving a robotic arm. This procedure can take the recovery from an average six weeks down to two or three!

I'm off to the hospital this morning after our Gymboree class with Maggie. And then Maggie and I are planning to spend the next two nights with "Ga-Ga" (Mom says Maggie is the best medicine!) with a quick break to have a playdate at the Wiggly Playcenter with Maggie's best friend Annika tomorrow morning.

I just hope she recovers quickly! It will be very hard for her not to hold her Munchie!!

Thinking of your mom and hoping her recovery goes smoothly!

And yay on the basket going to the social worker - that's awesome. Thanks for passing that along. :)

Speaking of social workers, you MUST have some HFC business to do in Austin soon, right? Right? Requiring a very necessary business trip here, that of course would require you to stay overnight at our house?

I wish your mom a speedy recuperation. If she has any problems that concern her or you I suggest you watch the new 12-minute educational video "Female Anatomy: the Functions of the Female Organs" at
http://www.hersfoundation.org/anatomy. You can watch and download the video free of charge.

Women are often not prepared for the changes they experience after hysterectomy and find it reassuring to have their questions answered by watching this video. Most doctors do not acknowledge that what they're experiencing is a result of the surgery, nor do the tell women that the uterus is a hormone responsive sex organ that supports the bladder and the bowel and has important functions lifelong.

LMAO @ Brandon...

How's your mom feeling? I've been thinking about her. With my entire family having hysterectomies in their 30s - it's creeping up on me at almost 27... I already KNOW I will have to have one - I've had so many problems. I hope and pray that her recovery goes well and she's back to active proud grandma again soon!! =]
