Miss Preschool 2007

Well, it's official. Maggie is now a preschooler. We have finished our first day, and she is no longer going to a private babysitter. This was no easy decision.

She did great--accident report and everything! That's right, my child managed to have an accident report filled out on her first day. You see, they have to sleep on little cots at preschool. Have you seen what a wiggle worm my little one is? A cot? Yeah right. So, when fidgeting and rolling around on the cot, the teacher told her it was now rest time and she needed to relax. What does my child do? Slams her head down on the cot and falls off! Big strawberry bruise on the center of her forhead later.... No, she didn't sleep at all during school today. Of course, she crashed as soon as we were leaving the parking lot. What a sweet love.

Drop off was emotional. Wouldn't you know I forgot my camera too! Great mom, right? Oh well, there will be other firsts I will be sure to capture. I'm not sure who cried more--me or her. Well, let's be honest--it was me. I cried talking to the teacher, cried talking to the principal, cried driving away. I stayed more than 30 minutes during drop-off to learn more and feel comfortable.

Where did this big girl come from?? Oh, no time and she will be in kindergarten! Can't I just freeze time?

awww congrats to Maggie on her first day of preschool. I know how you feel my "baby" starts preschool in September (just three mornings a week for 2 hrs) and my second babies start junior kindergarten (they are only 4 but in canada its a 2 yr half day program). I'm NOT ready!!an

Awww, her first accident report. You must scrapbook that you know. :) I cried more on my kids firsts in school than they ever did. Preschool was awful, kindergarten was terrible with the first, but just plain hell with the second. I cried on the way up, I cried on the way in, and I cried the entire day. WHOLE day kindergarten broke my heart. Don't guilt yourself over the pics, there's plenty more you'll document. Get a good one of the bruise though! Me, I have more pics of asthma attacks than I care to. Excitement just gets the oldest.
I'm sure Maggie will thrive and do wonderfully. She's such a cute little lady!

Hurray for Maggie! What a big girl! Preschool and all! Ashlan's first year of preschool was last year and I was a basketcase nearly EVERY time I dropped her off. I had a much harder time adjusting then Ashlan did. Thanks for the updates!

It is hard on those first days of school. I just dropped off my big 6th grader at middle school for the first time today. He was sooo nervous! I almost cried. They grow up so fast!

Jenny, time really does go entirely way too fast. My *baby* is six today, and starting 1st grade the end of this month.

Maggie is going to have so much fun at preschool, even with the first day accident report and a strawberry. Its hard to believe she will be two soon, and that I have "known" of you and your family for going on three years.

Hope all is well.

Aww congratulations on the first day of Preschool!!! What a milestone. I actually had a parent cry the other day during the orientation tour because of the anticipation of the first day of school. I can't imagine how that must feel. I hope the bruise is gone in no time!!

Wow, preschool already?! How exciting for her and emotional for you. It is so very scary how quickly they grow up. Emma is going into 1st grade this year and I just can't believe it!

I hope her head is feeling better. She is one tough cookie!

Awwww, big girl Maggie! I know the first day emotions can be tough! When Gabby graduated to the big girl room I cried. Ashley is going to Kindergarten in the fall, I'm trying so hard not to be emotional since she's excited about it, but it's so hard!!!

Hugs,
Dana
