First sign of success

5 lbs down as of this morning! It's a first step. I've got a long way to go, but five pounds give me a little more confidence. I'm ready to start feeling a difference in my clothing! In the last week, we've walked ten miles. My legs are sore! It's a sad realization of how badly out of shape I really am. Andrew is pushing the stroller at a quick speed and barely noticing our pace. Me? I'm huffing and puffing behind him, trying to keep up the pace. Tonight was a little better, so I think I will get more and more acustomed to our routine.

5 pounds is 5 pounds! I've lost 5 pounds since moving to CA from FL in the last 4 months and it IS a start. You keep up the good work!

I am 100 pounds overweight (only 5 feet tall) and I know all too well about the huffing and puffing.

You are an inspiration!

Way to go, Jenny! 5 pounds is a feat! I'll bet they melt off (along with the inches) in no time! Soon, Andrew will have to struggle to keep up with YOU! Congratulations, I know what a whip it is to work so hard and it seems to go so slowwwwwwwwwwww!

WTG on 5 lbs. When I joined WW my first goal was to lose 10% of my body weight which is actually the first two numbers in your weight. When you reach that goal you feel amazing! I know you can do it! And we are all right behind you cheering you on!!!

That is GREAT!!! And the huffing and puffing will stop soon. The soreness takes a bit longer though. Sorry. :) Just wait until you're way ahead and Andrew is fighting to keep up!

I think what you're doing is awesome!! And that you already lost 5 pounds is great! I don't know if you're familiar with the Flylady and her organizational advice. She says you didn't get into this mess in a day, and you're not going to clean it up in a day. The same goes for weight loss. It took a long time to gain the weight, and you can't expect to lose it quickly. Slowly does it! I absolutely love the idea that you are turning the exercise regimen into a family activity. Keep it up. I applaud you for doing this.

I think it is great that you have the goal of walking a half marathon (instead of a goal of loosing the weight...) keep you mind on your goal and you'll be loosing the weight at the same time (and gaining muscle tone). there is no better feeling than getting your body moving! i started training for the crescent city classic and i just made it to running 3 miles...it feels so good to see my goal is attainable! you will feel the same way! way to go on the 5 pounds! keep it up!
