Time to lace up my sneakers

Andrew and I signed up for Team in Training today. We're going to do a half marathon in Dallas in April. We're two weeks behind in training, but starting on Saturday. I'm really excited to do this with him.

I wish I had more tonight to blog, but truthfully, the house is all quiet (Andrew is out helping my brother) and my bed is warm and cozy on this rainy night. I'll blog tomorrow

I've been a long time reader, but rarely post. Just wanted to say congrats on signing up for TNT! I've done TNT twice (once was for my first marathon, the second time I mentored) and they have been the BEST experiences!

I've been a long time reader but haven't commented much. I just have to tell you that this will be it! This will be the change that you are needing in your health/weight and it is for a great cause! You will be amazed how great you feel. I just did my first half marathon this fall and it was awesome! What a great decision!

I did my first half marathon in Dallas in November of 2006 with TNT. Your daughter's name was duct taped on the back of my race shirt. I was a French student in PISD when Allie got sick, heard about her story, and I began following your journal. This lead to a lot of volunteering with LLS which eventually led to running with TNT. It was absolutely one of the best experiences of my life and I have you and Allie to thank for it.

Anyways, I just wanted to say GO TEAM and I hope you enjoy the Saturday mornings at White Rock Lake - it's really wonderful to watch the sun rise over the lake.

I walked the Honolulu Marathon in 2002 for Team in Training. It was awesome, hard, and I felt high for 2 weeks after I completed it. I figured, if I was going to do something as bizarre as walking 26.2 miles, I might as well raise money for a good cause at the same time. I raised over 3 thousand dollars. I chose Team in Training as I'm a Hospice RN and I walked for all the patients I had taken care of with blood related cancers.(Actually I think the minimum you have to raise for them is 3K)....I loved it. I had hideous blisters in the end. But it is a memory I'll always treasure.

GO TEAM!

I did my first event with TNT last year with Allie's name on my cycling jersey. This year my family and I are all doing it together (10 days to go!) and we've raised $9600 for LLS.

It's been such a good experience for all of us. We've done something good for our health, supported a great cause and we've met some people who I know will be lifelong friends. Whether you're running, walking or cycling, TNT really is a great program!
